Yes, Steve. There is nothing to beat a glorious ending. I'm sure you'll agree.
Today, it's all slap dash and hurried. Time is money I guess.
I agree with you on that one. It just looked a lot more polished and just better. I always enjoy the ends on Saturday nights. That is the only time we get to see it now, isn't it?
I miss the days when the lights went down at the end of news bulletins. In fact I miss the days when news bulletins had a proper end.
I know what you mean, Steve. I miss those days too. Although it's a bit off-topic, one of my all-time favourite closing sequences to a news bulletin was the ITN News at 5.40 between 1989 and 1992. The lights would go down and the gold CGI 'ITN 540' logo would spin and zoom in time with the awesome synth theme tune. Definitely one of the best in my humble opinion.
To go back on topic, probably the greatest BBC News ending sequence was the Nine O'Clock News in the 1990s when the lights would dip and the orchestral music would boom out. Ahhh, memories

Sorry, but I don't like Fiona Bruce's glasses. You can barely see her eyes. How can this be acceptable?
Edit: Nevermind; apparently she's got an eye infection.
She had one of those a few years back as well & wore similar style of glasses then.
You'd think she'd get a more trendier pair for moments like this?
Anymore of the BBC News(& Weather. Pretty sure I saw sexy little Laura in a pair once?) ladies wear glasses occasionally? Locally I only know to Suzanne Virdee occasionally, for hay fever reasons!
