Another nail in the coffin for the news summary then. How long until they axe all of the daytime summaries altogether? It's a shame that both the BBC and ITV have cut back their news summaries so much in recent years. I remember when BBC One/Two had news summaries on the hour between 10am and about 4pm in the 1990s. ITV had regular summaries, too.
I fully understand the argument that the vast majority of people can get their news from news channels, the web, or even on their mobiles these days. However, sometimes it is too much trouble to faff about with all that and you just want a quick update between programmes on a mainstream channel. What are people in that position supposed to do now? I know in the short gap between programmes on BBC One/Two, I wouldn't have the time to switch over to News 24 and get all the headlines there.
