Huw sitting down at the start of tonight's Ten - any particular reason?
Haha, beat me to it. Maybe the BBC have abolished all standing up.
I don't know but the presenters don't seem as bubly as they normally are, is it down to the lack of RTS nominations (especially for the BBC News at Ten).
Hope the BBC haven't abolished standing on the Ten - it's the only time we ever see the presenter standing up in studio N6 apart from the sport and business!
Haven't noticed anything about how bubly the presenters are, Huw seems as jubbly as ever
A brief Breakfast (c 2000) reunion - Sophie Raworth and Jeremy Bowen together on the 'Ten' just now, with Sophie presenting, and Jeremy in the studio with the latest on the Middle East protests. All terribly formal as you'd expect though: "...Jeremy Bowen, thank you."

That's really not uncommon - he was on the one a lot during the Egypt coverage.

Radio Talkback failed.
Safer to sit.
At least Huw could hear me!
I think you should patch Huw's earpiece through to a feed from thursdayisa telling him exactly how he should be standing / dancing / rolling around the set during the news.

I would certainly have him dancing at the beginning when reading out the headlines, completely out of sync to the headline drum music. Then during the quarter past sting, have him doing push-ups on the desk, similar to what Simon McCoy once did. And at the end, I would have him standing up at the pod where the sport/business presenter usually is, whilst handing over to Chris Eakin, who would be standing on the desk.

I've wondered for a while if there is a reason for these two different camera shots during national bulletins and solo NC shifts?
The first one is slightly more angled showing more of the backdrop and you can see the edge of the desk and Barco wall. On the NC it's normally used before the weather. On national bulletins it's used in random places and they tend to swap between the two shots.

I think the first shot is used for when the newsreader is reading "more brief" stories (on the national bulletins), or like you say, when handing over to the weather (on solo News Channel shifts). Then I think the second shot is used for when the newsreader is reading more "top and important" stories (which applies to both national and the News Channel)

There's also 2 different Daytime backdrops (one with grey 'beams' and one with blue ones, which also has a bit more colour on the backdrop) I just wish they'd make their mind up which one they use as half the time it seems to change from day to day!

Why? Do such minor details really annoy you? Does it upset you if the sources on the plasma's visible in the newsroom behind N8 are in the "wrong" order too?

It annoys me. It just ruins the consistency of N6 (however dull the backdrop is). And the sources on the plasma's visible in the newsroom behind N8, if they're in the wrong order, well, god help us all...
