Is it just me, or do the BBC's national news graphics need updating to be brought in line with News 24's, or be atleast similar to.

An example of what I mean occured tonight...

It doesn't appear to match up with News 24, and looks fairly awful.

Odd yeah, but different.

This could have been posted in the SIX thread.

Yeah, it's odd to see the aston going all the way to the bottom of the screen - more like the old News 24 ones (but inverted colours).

I'm not sure why they don't adopt News 24's graphics. Preferably animating on.

Daft comment. The whole idea of this forum is to avoid everythign going into huge generic threads. *sigh*

And why should it be in the News at 6 one - its for all BBC National news.

The graphics are always bigger with a videophone, because the picture doesnt't fill the whole screen and the quality isn't so good

They should get the people who designed the new Breakfast graphics to make a matching set for the National News. They've done a really good job of them - and use a similar videophone graphic as News 24 (the one with a third of the left hand of the screen taken up with a globe map of the location, and "VIDEOPHONE" text). These would work perfectly on the National, not to mention giving the viewer more information, so I don't know why they haven't been put into use. Hopefully the recent mere changing of the font was only a temporary measure, whilst some new, matching graphics are created.

The other night on BBC News @ 10 they used the normal name astons and a new Via Videophone icon. Different to the one shown.
