Is there any information on viewing figures for BBC World News?

You won't find any BARB-like figures for BBC World or any international channel. Different countries have their own audience research systems, and some either don't or it's just unfeasible to get accurate figures.

They'll do their own surveys for, but publicly they'll normally just quote how many homes they broadcast to (regardless of course of whether people in those houses actually ever watch!)

It'll be curious to see what happens at 9, will they go to A as usual or, seeing as World News is taking coverage as well, will they take up C.

Bit of a calamity at 9:30 with Clive being cut off by the titles and then the headlines ramp not playing.

Bit of a nightmare on the news channel at the moment. For around the last 15 minutes there have been no on screen graphics such as the LIVE bug, location bug, ticker or clock. At 19:30 the weather forecast was supposed to be presented by Susan Powell, but you could not see or hear her - instead you were treated to just the weather graphics.

Then, on a live link to Chris Eakin who was reporting from Woolwich, a location bug of WASHINGTON came up on screen with the 'local time' of 13:33 alternating with the incorrect location.

There has been no graphics since 7pm when I turned on. There was a still of a BREAKING NEWS caption with WOOLWICH MURDER in big letters like before it gives you more information usually. It looked like something generated by BIG TED which I believe used to be referred to on here. No animation just a straight forward caption but it only stayed on screen for about 10 mins and then there was a white bar appeared on the top left of the screen for a few mins. It looked like a major meltdown but they continued on!

Brief read out on Net Migration figures....

"Net Migration, that is the difference between those coming into and going out of the country..."

I'm sorry, but do we need to have that explained to us?

Today in 1988 (25 years ago)
Gay rights activists invaded the BBC television news studio at the beginning of the Six O Clock News. Presenter Nicholas Witchell had to sit on one protester who had chained herself to the desk whilst Sue Lawley read the opening headlines amid sounds of muffled shouting.

Some people might. It's not a massive inconvenience to most of those who don't.

There's been quite a few graphics problems on the news channel this afternoon. With around 30mins of graphics free viewing.

Has anyone got a cap of the titles when the News Channel has a live OB at TOTH? Ie full version, not the "short" version that cuts a pan of the newsroom and studio.
