These are looking great. But why are they not named ABCDEF? I've tried to find a reason for A1 A2 etc. so excuse me if I'm missing the obvious.
My guess was that there are two different end shots of Broadcasting House, for daytime and nighttime. The clips are the same throughout the two variations but are shown in a different order.
Seems odd that version 1 don't all end on daytime BH shots and version 2 don't all end on nighttime shots (unless I'm mistaken). Would have led to more variation, instead of having to use A1, A2 or C2 during the day and the other three at night,

I take it the shots featuring Simon, Carrie, Joanna and Sophie Long are staged? I don't remember seeing any reports by them in the field reporting on stories in the areas they feature in the clips. Did they go out and film them covering a 'fake report' as it were for inclusion on the countdown?
Noticed watching the BBC 6pm news on BBC 1 HD on Friday, a very nasty black vertical line, about 10-15% of picture height, in the top right hand corner of the picture. At first I thought it was a column of dead pixels on my screen ! It's very sharp on HD. Can be seen also on BBC News Channel, though the compression often washes it away. It's outside the overscan area, so probably not noticable by most.
Edit: Vanished sometime between 11:00 and 12:00hrs today (Sunday)

Could somebody please tell me why the NC uses WN's studio and the virtual studio at 5pm and 8pm? Is it for prep for the 6 and 10? If so what happens at 12pm? Just curious as I don't live in the UK and I'm not up with that. Cheers
Looked like Studio B. The stuck a newsroom backdrop onto the desk area by the look's of things. I would have preferred it to have been done from that interview point which overlooks the newsroom (which they use for Breakfast and used on NC before the move).
The opening to Your Money from earlier on today, which now has the obligatory BBC News box overlaid during the titles.
BBC News Television????? That makes me think there's no reason to rename News 24 into just BBC News. Otherwise, they must call the "BBC News Channel" but not the branding.
