The more I see of this studio, the more it reminds me of N8. That isn't necessarily a bad thing.

It's a bit like celebs still thinking it's trendy to do the Harlem shake - the BBC have come to the party rather late

Er The National/ NC were doing it over 10 years ago.

which is why I'm glad World is not using it very much. It's enough to have biz presenters stand during updates and presenters of GMT/Impact/Global during opening.

Well if that's true then there is more standing on World as the NC doesn't open standing up or have any regular business updates. Rolling Eyes

The news channel does open on standing presentation now, only when there's 2 presenters. Matthew was standing earlier at the TOTH and Jane was seated.

Really like the nightime blue tinge to the newsroom.

One other not so good side is that this is the worst time to ditch the business updates. We have a crisis in Cyprus and the chancellor's budget coming out.

Well, I think it's fair to say that the 9 O'clock news in Studio A looks bloody awful. I personally, would love to see a 5 News, 1997 style hour, live from the newsroom.

This little low table set-up could be used for interviews and I'm sure there would be a suitable screen somewhere in the newsroom. If not, surely the weather plasma could be used for 'down the line' interviews, obviously with the presenter stood with there back to the newsroom, not the giant 'BBC Weather' logo on the opposite wall.

The presenter could interview people at their desks and there are many features of the newsroom that would make a suitable backdrop. The gallery, for example or the bottom of the spiral staircase.

Just a thought..

Totally agree. Would bring a dynamism to the hour, rather than the staleness of Studio A.

Would also be better for the 5.

Were all the cameras in the barco studios automatically operated or have a few cameramen been fired?

I'm sure there was at least one in the studio at TVC.

pretty shameless how they've just ripped the paper review format from Sky News, and at the same time (and no doubt with the same old reviewers).
