Agree with you here, I think it will probably get old quickly, especially as it's such a long pan in a way. It would have been better to integrate the titles into the pan, in a similar way to 2006/7 with the national titles which swirled out into the studio shot. It would look less disjointed I think.
I know they've just moved and much of the set is designed with the current branding in mind, but maybe we'll get a revamp of the current look or a complete rebrand that doesn't jar with the set in a couple of years.
But in terms of the fake backdrop, I thought the 5 looked quite good, because they weren't pretending to be in E, it was a different angle, etc so I don't think it looked too bad
Really liking the new look, as a whole. Think it makes it feel more dynamic, clean and modern.
Just a few things though:
I think the name astons for interviewees/correspondents should stay on screen for another second before disappearing. At the moment, I think it goes too quickly. In reality, it's probably the same length as before.
I think the Newsroom sweep and studio pan, though nice, may get tired within a few months to the point where it'd be nice to see the full 15 second titles at some TOTHs, the Newsroom sweep at others.
Not a fan of the fake studio backdrop in studios outside of E, either.
Apart from those things, it's brilliant! Kudos to the teams involved.
