Not the best quality but interesting to compare studios E & C
Would be a lot better without the grille on the top and the white band at the bottom of the backdrop, and as someone has said, the view from studio E rather than the balcony shot.
I quite like the backdrop on C - certainly adds some variety. Makes me wonder why they didn't structure the studio plans to allow the national bulletins to come from there to allow greater use of the big screen to display stories like they were able to - albeit very rarely - in N6. I suppose it's to show off the newsroom to a greater audience and continue to make people see BBC News as one operation.
Edit: the above post about the 1999 backdrop in N6 also makes me wonder what has changed in allowing bulletins which can reach 6 million viewers to have such a potentially problematic backdrop.
I'm not sure... but priority at other times has to be given to WN, especially at 22.00. Out of curiosity, do the lead presenters during the "regular" WN bulletins use stand-up presentation behind those walls, because judging from the 11.30 bulletin on BBC2, I'm inclined to think they don't?
I've noticed that the new graphics are not 4:3 safe. Just thought I'd see what the graphics would look like on a CRT TV and you end up with the Live DOG and BBC News logo half being chopped off.
I think with the lack of business updates, putting the Markets and currencies in the ticker would be a worthwhile idea.

Nope, the only ones that stand up on Studio C during BBC WN news bulletins are Business Presenters... usually, Sally, Alice, and Aaron.
EDIT: Ben Thompson seems to be just too tall... everywhere.
Have caught up with all the changes now, a few thoughts:
The end of TVC was nicely done with all the lights going off - really lovely moment. Could they not have found a better overhead shot though, bit of an arse-end view of TVC that people aren't really familiar with.
The channel feels a hell of a lot less claustrophobic and I could see myself watching it for much longer periods than before. That said, the swooping shots are going to get a bit tiresome after a while...do we really need that show-off shot before every weather forecast? It's a bit of a shame that the titles have just been re-edited, would have been a good opportunity for a re-fresh. Overall, I love the way they're trying a different approach to a number of things, like putting a few promos in between the 1 and the news channel returning so the presenters can swap seats rather than standing awkwardly at the side.
One thing to think about is how long this has taken, over a decade, so it seems weird for it all finally to be in place. I remember the return to Broadcasting House being announced early in Greg Dyke's reign, then the plans taking shape. I saw the BH building site ten years ago and there was a sign outside saying they expected to have news in there by 2008 (!). There was also a Breakfast refresh around the same time as the plans were unveiled when a lot of people said the new backdrop seemed to be inspired by the initial plans for BH, would be interesting to compare the two.
