So the TOTH presenter opener has been refreshed - just noticed...

'This is BBC News, I'm Jane Hill - the Headlines at 4' then the second presenter comes in from the video wall with 'I'm Matthew Amroliwala, also coming up'

Is it me - during the countdown - we don't have any 'pip' sounds at 10 anymore.

They're still there, but noticeably lower in the mix as I hear it.

I think it was mentioned earlier that Lyse Doucet is in the BBC NC countdown, despite the fact that she is more prominent on BBC WN... I believe her position now is Chief International Correspondent? So, she is now BBC's counterpart of Christane Amanpour. I guess? Laughing

But what surprised me was there's no Mishal Hussein or Komla Dumor, despite the fact that both of them still show up either as Relief or on Domestic/World simulcast...

It's a shame that a camera hides Matthew when they cut to the wide shot of the studio.

Can't help but feel sorry for ITV News ... their new studio looks ... shall we say .... less impressive now. But all in all it has been executed brilliantly by the BBC.

More behind the scenes bits from Nick, this time to the new look weather placement, they now have 'Madonna mikes' and no clicker.

Sounds great! I'll get it up soon.

Have you been able to record all these behind the scenes looks? Would be good to see them all in one video.

I'll do that, yes. My recorder hasn't stopped all day and will continue all through the night, since BBC One HD has the News Channel overnight, which I believe will be in HD on BBC One.

Excellent; thanks.

Not very tricky as he's about 4 foot 6!

Ben the Business on the other hand...

TOO MANY! BBC News should be bringing us hard core, hard hitting news 24/7, not little looks around at where Rory has his coffee. WASTE OF THE LICENCE FEE IF YOU ASK ME...

Only 3 that I've seen.

During the last hour, we have seen up to 3 different weather presenters, including the one who gave a tour of his section to the correspondent. Why didn't they use him instead for the pre-16.00 weather bulletin?

I think I still prefer the old graphics. They feel more designed and less generic.
