I love the shot of MediaCityUK there! Great new countdown with a lot more effort put into it than the last few iterations.

Half past the hour headlines:

I missed the end of the news at tvc what exactly happened to n6 and the weather centre? , were they given a goodbye?

Simon McCoy and Sophie Long stood at the wall where the 10 presenter used to stand with the Barcos showing a wide shot of Telly Centre. They spoke about the history of BBC News there - and the new look coming next. They walked out the studio and N6 faded to black, including the Barcos.

If you go back a couple of pages, there is a video that's been posted.

Imagine if the NC was in HD!

Looking at the graphics and the studio graphics compared to World news, there is a darker, much less orange look to it all. The placenames are missing around the globe, and the lines appearing within the red globe turn white, unlike the BBC World News ones.

A few problems with some of the slides there

There was also a proper close to the News Channel, complete with a shot of TVC.

Please excuse me if this has been covered and I've missed it but are there any known plans for a BBC News Channel in HD to be added to the EPG?

I don't think it will be live anytime soon I'm afraid. You won't be able to see N24's output in HD unless you tune-in to BBC1 HD during the national bulletins or wait until next week for BBC2 HD to go live (in that case tune-in at 11.00). BBC has been quite slow in rolling-out HD across its different networks and there it has 7 more channels to consider converting to HD.

Thanks - what a shame it looks fab in HD

What a contrast to this:

Now that BBC NC has moved to the Broadcasting House, does this mean BBC shows like HARDtalk, Reporters (and UK Reporters for WN), and Fast:Track will now align their lower-thirds properly to the new one?

I saw HARDtalk aligned properly with the new BBC WN lower-thirds (even when it flashes on-screen).

As an aside, I find it fascinating that everywhere is slowly filtering 'aston' out as as term for lower thirds, this lives on in a lot of BBC galleries though!

The sport presenter handed back to "the news centre". Is this an official thing?

Oh, another thing which you eagle-eyed viewers appear not to have noticed: Ben Brown's live bits from Baghdad (during the One, at least) are in HD.

Someone posted that they noticed this!

Why no local time bug?

Quite glad it's not there as it animates far too quickly.

Really hope they don't start referring to BBC Parliament as their 'sister channel'.
