Nick doing his live tour was on the 2nd floor (business department level). The live point there that has appeared before, and Studio K, a new one on here. Very similar to the 5th floor "visualisation" studio. Says his Meet the Author will be coming from there. Has a few plants a green screen curtain.

Nick Higham walking around the business unit and bumping into Rory Cellan-Jones eating his lunch!

psst, let me let you in on a secret of television - that was probably planned.

Oh, another thing which you eagle-eyed viewers appear not to have noticed: Ben Brown's live bits from Baghdad (during the One, at least) are in HD.

Matthew and Jane do look uncomforably close together. Barely enough room for Jane to move her mouse by the look of things.

It's really looking strange, they are almost touching.

I think most people understood that it was planned (hopefully).

The HD shot in Baghdad was very crisp - but to be honest I was more impressed with the studio sound quality

Now that BBC NC has moved to the Broadcasting House, does this mean BBC shows like HARDtalk, Reporters (and UK Reporters for WN), and Fast:Track will now align their lower-thirds properly to the new one?

I saw HARDtalk aligned properly with the new BBC WN lower-thirds (even when it flashes on-screen).

Not at the moment, but I hope by tomorrow or so...

Ah sorry. Yes that exactly what I've seen one time. I was just dreaming LOL.

I love the Dalek cameras swiveling around and poking their heads into shot here and there.

Ben Thompson, is a bit too tall for that angle and screen.

So, so impressed so far. Better than I was ever expecting. So many lovely touches.

+1 Very Happy

Love all the cameras on show. Looks so dynamic, vibrant, live, busy. Which is exactly as it should be. So good.

So one full hour nearly down.

Apart from the titles being short and seemingly out of sync (maybe we're just used to the old style) and the presenters a tiny bit close together, the first hour has been excellent.

Great use of the screens with a stood up TOTH and Matthew moving over to the news wall to explain stories during the hour - and just now, Ben Thompson presenting some Budget talk from there too.

The break bumpers, throw to the weather, weather graphics, newsroom camera, coming up slides, refreshed music and countdown is just so much better.

It makes the last 4 years in N6 look very, very poor.

No technical hickups (yet) which the News channel did seem riddled with in N6.

All in all, 10000% times better than it was before. BBC News has been pulled in to the 21st Century.

A big hand to everyone there - excellent work.
