News channel is in B with Tim Wilcox for what appears to be (and is being presented as) a regular BBC World News bulletin.
EDIT: We even had a break which the News Channel filled with a Website promo and a plug or the BBC Four Movie music season.

It was a refreshing change, rather than just simulcasting the Six.

Was there any reason for it?

Also at 6:30 we crashed into a weather forecast.

Possibly in anticipation of the John Kerry press conference starting early?

Nobody seems to have told Tim he's going out on the NC, he's said BBC Word News twice in the last couple of minutes of that half hour, before the NC crashed into weather.

It was a sloppy cut into the news at six weather just now. Although there was no other way they could have done that

It's not the weather from the 6, it's a pre-rec from the weather plasma earlier on.

Oh, my mistake. Then they could have dealt with it better

This stray aston over the weather summed it up perfectly... Very Happy

Good job it was a pre record and not live, Tomasz is not known for dealing with those too well. Wink

It was a bit of a clunky junction. I'm guessing it's the only weather forecast they could get there hands on at short notice. I guess the downside to having handovers from the news channel to the weather plasma via the news room camera means you have to cut the first bit off to appear less recorded.

From what I saw, after the World News bulletin ended as normal someone cued the non news room BOTH titles realised their mistake and switched to the weather which had already started playing.

Was the stray 'Getting to Grips' aston over the weather, after the mess up - part of the 18:30 headlines recap with Anita? If not, was it a subtle acknowledgement message. Embarassed

Has any explanation for the unexpected simulcast come to light?
