What are you talking about? Very few breaking news stories happen just after 21:15, it's just unfortunate timing - and George Entwistle didn't organise his own live resignation annoucement either.

N6 was a door away from the newsroom in TVC, not a long way away. N8 was pretty much right above it, one level up.

Actually N6 was quite a bit off the Newsroom

The only news anchors in the building will be the ones on air, the ones preparing, and the ones working on other stuff.

Do you actually read into what people are trying to say or just insult anyone who disagrees with you. I didn't say they were just sat around I was saying that in the case of them needing a presenter in say Studio E and the presenter was in Studio A in a breaking news situation they could throw to a presenter for the time taken to move studio or stay in the studio until the next presenter change regardless of the normal studio schedule. And in the case of them needing to change the ones preparing or working on other stuff could easily be moved into Studio.
You guys all seem to think that any scenario can be implimented at a moment's notice, but it's just not possible. Stuff doesn't just happen.

Sorry, but on this planet throwing to correspondents for 10 minutes or getting an off air presenter to go on air with a couple of minutes notice is far from impossible. They used to do it all the time before N24 when a breaking news story broke during say the middle of the night and more recently used to move to Studio N9 with a moments notice. But what I was saying was that if say at 1655 a breaking news story happened they could stay in Studio E and could ignore the Studio Schedule instead of moving to Studio C and move the News at Six to Studio C, back at TVC they did last minute studio changes several times.
You don't appriciate just how complicated things are.

Yes I do, you just don't read into what people are trying to say.

Do you happen to have a plan showing where studio N9 was, that's one studio I never could work out where abouts in the building it was.

I know for a fact N8 is here,

with the Gallery in Green.

But I am not sure whether N9 is here

but I think that is unlikely that it is there as I was sure it was in Stage 6, but then again I thought N6 was in Stage 6 until I saw the floorplan.

I love it when someone such as yourself, who clearly thinks they know it all, come back like this.

I don't care what you think the floor plan shows. The N6 set was directly behind the N6 gallery, which itself was on one side of the newsroom. Not away from the the news room, but right in the newsroom; right next to the desks where the News Channel was produced from. The N6 set was through one set of double doors away from that. So stop whining.
N8 was one flight up. There were stairs from pretty much right outside the N6 gallery directly up to N8.
N9 was up those stairs, and down a short corridor. You could walk to N9 from N6 in less than a minute.

Your idea about shifting the 6 into C is one that will never happen, unless on extreme, extreme circumstances. Where will the crew come from to staff C for the 6? The 6 is a network bulletin, and thus trumps the News Channel. That is fact.

Ofcourse, in theory, and technically, ANYTHING ins possible, and people will do WHATEVER is needed of them. But dreaming up scenarios and suggesting what you want to happen is just pie in the sky. Smile

you just don't read into what people are trying to say. I did not say that it was my idea I was saying that in an extreme news breaking news scanerio they would move it to another studio, and in that even it would become a network bulletin anyway. That Floorplan is where Rory Cellan Jones walks to N6 in the closing TVC report. And without being accused of squabling, I take it "I love it when someone such as yourself, who clearly thinks they know it all" was said under great irony.

And now you are just living up to your name, muckspreader. It's amazing how muckspreaders, when confronted with irrefutable evidence, such as an official floor plan, still try to refute it. The evidence is undeniable, your refuting it makes you look like a loon. Give up now.

To be fair to Muckspreader, I visited TVC for one last look around in February and he is certainly correct that you could walk from N6 to N8 and N9 within a minute or two. They are not miles away from each other, regardless of what floor plans show. I managed to see the newsroom, visit both the N6 studio and gallery to watch some live output, go and have a good look around an empty N8 and N9 all within the space of about an hour. What was a long way away was TC7, but that's another story.

You are correct - N9 is indeed where you have circled. The separate room in the corner is the gallery.

This is brilliant.
You haven't even been to TVC, have you?
Look, I don't care what you think you're saying, or what you may have seen on an rcj report.
What I have said about the proximity of N6, N8, and N9 is correct. Itsrobert is also correct.
I may have a sharp tongue, but what I say here is fact. Floorplan or not, you are wrong.
Thanks.

Yes. Probably.
I'm tired of fanatics presenting fantasy as fact.
Should I bother? Probably not.
Will I tell any really interesting stuff? Never.
Do I care? No.
