Interesting to see that, as yet there hasn't been any joint BBC News Special between the News Channel and BBC World, both channels launching their normal programs on the TOTH, (Impact on WN) before joining Mishal Hussein to anchor events from Cairo. The Feed controlled by B or C's gallery it would seem due to the appearance of 'Local Time' on the bug. Jeremy Bowen seems to be seeing some harrowing images.


Pretty sure this happened many times in TVC. You can normally tell when they cross to the location that World have joined News 24 - there's a big pause and no personal thank you.

Out of curiosity, would it be possible for, Annita McVeigh to make it from Studio E to studio A to cover for the news at nine in studio A within three-four minutes between the weather and TOTH? This is just me being curious, wondering if the two studios are close.

No they are two floors apart A is on -3 while E is on -1

Was this a simulcast between World and the NC? There seemed to be no gap for World to opt-out, with Mishal mentioning Sophie and the like during her parts, but then back in London there was a reference to bbc.co.uk/news, when Mishal had said 'the BBC website' a few minutes earlier.

Sorry don't know, I was presuming a simulcast, perhaps opening straight away and cutting off before mentioning Sophie. I noted it here in case anyone was going to ask what happened.

10pm UK time is World News America which tends to have more recorded reports rather then live link ups so it is likely that for the 10 Studio E had Cairo all to themselves.

Looks like they are having some problems tonight.

At just before 0300 we had the picture below with the headline bed playing.

Then the countdown leading up to 0400 was the old TVC one, which I found a bit strange.

With no clock, either. Was it the one they used when waiting for a weekend BBC 1 simulcast?

I sadly didn't manage to record it, but it was the filler used - I should have clarified that in my post.

Problems again tonight as they've just had to play the filler again, but this time it was the current one.
