On 'the Papers' I notice that they always cue the '#bbcpapers' strap so it's on screen throughout the programme, but let it transition out every time a name strap comes on and comes off, so they have to bring the '#bbcpapers' thing back on again - World News manage to keep a hashtag on screen throughout if they need to, but the NC just don't bother. It's just a little thing that bugs me.

I guess they just want to balance the L3 graphics out, since BBCWN has the separate strap for program titles like "GMT", "GLOBAL", "FOCUS ON AFRICA", and other branded programs, while BBCNC don't have that particular graphic.

I believe the official Met Office designation of Heatwave is daytime highs of 30 Celcius (86 Fahrenheit) or higher, and night-time lows not dropping below 15 Celcius (59 Fahrenheit). Most people though tend to think heatwave if it stays above 25 Celcius (77 Fahrenheit) for more than a few days.
So temperatures in the 25-30°C range are considered a "heatwave" in the UK?

Why is Chris Eakin talking to the political correspondent via a screen when she is sat somewhere above him on the balcony? Why doesn't she just go and sit at he desk next to him?

OK... my own question just answered by the fact he swung round to talk to an expert who is sat next to him!

I notice that on the NC sometimes, I think they're either trying to take advantage of the shiny newsroom and its nice to have guests out on the balcony once in a while or she could be in a rush

Off-topic, but in Australia a heatwave is like 3+ days above 35C, reaching 40 sometimes. No wonder we're losing the cricket - our cricketers must be freezing!

That is probally the reason as she was in Studio E about 30mins later

Seems strange for a political correspondent to be in BH - aren't they based at Millbank?
