I know Salford is a long way up north but there's no need to shout Mr Watson, people are trying to play a Tennis match. Laughing

It was mentioned on Sportsday, however he was working for World News, not the news channel.

Where is the newsroom camera controlled from?

A small lean-to shack on the side of the A425 about a half mile west of Leamington Spa Station.

It took 17 years to lay the cabling from there to Broadcasting House, and to avoid bits of fur getting into the machinery it is operated round the clock by a team of eleven clean shaven Badgers. Except during the occasional Fox invasion, when the camera is controlled by a team of henchmen from the backup control centre located in the basement of The Hall of Doom.

Ha funny... in all seriousness, what gallery is it from?

Obviously the Studio E gallery but I am not sure about the 5 and 9 hours they are probably controlled from the separate gallerys

From pictures of the galleries I'm sure the newsroom camera is just another camera that is technically part of studio e.
In the 5 & 9 hours the newsroom shots are recorded.

The BBC News ticker has disappeared from BBC One after a small jump forward in time (as it were). There is now a pause symbol in the top right corner of the screen.

EDIT: Here's a cap.

To see the jump do an iPlayer rewind to 2:07

It's not just BBC One. BBC Three has got the pause symbol and has no dog. Not sure what's going on.

EDIT: BBC TWO and BBC FOUR is the same.

EDIT 2: All fine now.

Ah, good spot. It seems to be fixed now on all channels.

It happened around 2:07 on BBC One, so it might be worth doing an iPlayer rewind to see them all.

EDIT: It's happened again on BBC One.

Normally tests of routing signals through the broadcast chain. The symbol gets added to positively identify a specific feed. Used to be a regular sight around the RBS tests.

This excellent pause symbol has now gained its own thread
