Was te countdown like this for the whole day? I wonder why it had the wn countdown?

it's just going to be a mistake. I don't know if studio A plays out the countdown or studio E at this junction (or either of them).

But how could the World Music be playing on a News Channel countdown? Someone would have had to put the World music to the NC visuals.

Doesn't the 2100-2200 hour come from a different studio? I wonder if that studio plays the countdown as well - and simply the wrong one was played?

Presumably the BBC News / BBC World News patches are keyed live on the Viz that is associated with the various outputs of the studio - so the BBC News patch would have come from Viz, not been part of the sound and vision being played by the server for the countdown?

(AIUI all BBC News studios at NBH have separate BBC News Channel, BBC One/Two Domestic and a BBC World News outputs - derived by keying over separate Viz engines over each one - to allow them to have different branding over the same studio output?)

I thought the countdown came from Red Bee or something, and that it automatically starts at 58 minutes past every hour, with the NC and WN effectively 'opting in' to the feed?

Red Bee don't have anything to do with the BBC News Channel - though they do provide playout facilities for BBC World News.

It could simply be that the Sound Mixer accidentally put the wrong track on.

It could simply be that someone spilt coffee on the studio mixer, quickly called World News, and said:

Very messy changeover just gone. Nina Ridge wasn't ready for the weather and when she did appear she was very flustered and her head mic wasn't set properly causing poor audio, then we had a shot of Matthew at the desk before cutting to the filler countdown, and finally getting to Matthew, no audio for first 5 seconds. Another camera very slightly in shot (by the looks of it anyway) during the BBC One weather tonight:

I'm surprised there is actually another camera in the weather clip studio, unless of course it wasn't a camera at all.

The thing is, though, is that it doesn't look like it can just be a simple case of the audio track from WN being overlayed, or the box being overlayed on the countdown. It's a countdown intended for the UK, ending with a time lapse shot, and showing NC faces as part of it, so it isn't the case of the wrong countdown. Unless the countdown plays out with only the noise from the data streams attached, with music overlayed, this would almost seem like a choice to have different music play before the 10pm bulletin.

The noise of the data streams matches up, even though it occurs at different points in most countdowns, I think, and it would seem unlikely to add the audio over the top of the countdown.
