That shot of the Queen behind presenters was amazing!

Breaks so many of the BBC's own newsroom rules though. I'm telling the Daily Mail! Laughing

I'd like to see that pan down from the upper floors down to the news room used on a TOTH sequence some time, perhaps for the 5 o clck or 9 o clock hours
That's because it's not a BBC camera, Simon explained it's a Royal one
nope - the nice pans down through the atrium were from the regular rail cam. They did look quite nice, and I agree, it would be good to see a wee bit of variety on the TOTHs.

I really wish they put the same type of camera on the other side of the newsroom so that it can be used for World.

Does seem reminiscent of the ITN opening from 1992/3ish. I agree, would work very well, although I guess much of that bit of the building isn't news so they want to focus on the newsroom...

I agree, it would be quite reminiscent.

However, wasn't GIR also used for other than ITN/ITV News even at that time, so the pan down the atrium included non-ITN areas?

EDIT:
No, it looks as though the building was rather empty at the time . . .

A rather terrifying stray camera moving across the camera shot as we head towards the BBC One bulletin.

It was a bit of a messy intro full stop - the countdown track was still on after the BBC One ident before fading out, the camera didn't pan towards Clive as usual and the ticker/clock was on screen for a few seconds.

And all the graphics on network had the hippy shakes.

Sometimes robotic cameras just get bored and go walkies, as at 7pm yesterday

On the last TV-am there's a bit where Rory Bremner jokes that the pan down is purely to promote the office space available to let Smile the darkness does rather give it away...

They filled them eventually though. The second dark floor up is where I work now Very Happy

Is the NC running 4 minutes behind? They had a TOTH at 4.03pm, and all my clocks now say 4.06pm, whereas the NC Clock is saying at this moment...4.02pm...
