News 24's studio has two large projectors either side of the desk, a large bright newsroom, with two mini presenting areas in the 'wings' of the studio.

As mentioned above, it's a set rather than a studio.

World's studio, includes a darker newsroom, with an area of monitors on a black wall, a smaller desk, and two smaller plasma screens either end of the desk.

Again, studio. Note that, again as mentioned above, the BBC World main set has only a single plasma screen located to the presenter's right (or to the left of the presenter from the viewer's perspective); there is no longer a plasma screen at the opposite end of the desk, as clearly seen in the image in one of the above posts.

OK, OK, The SET, is in the Studio, which is in the NEWSROOM, inside BBC's NEWS CENTRE etc.

And apologies for the mistake with the plasma on the right, I am not a big viewer of BBC News 24/World, and I hate both the set designs, News 24's more than Worlds, but thanks again for the correction, good thing I dont agree with Wiki's eh?

I think News 24's set is better then Worlds, World's set dosen't seem to benefit from adequate lighting while News 24's looks natural in comparison, the same with the cameras, some shots look blurry on BBC World, while on News 24 it looks a lot better.

On the contrary Harshy my dear friend, I think the News 24 set looks too busy and appears to have bits added-on here and there.

World's is crisp and clean and less cluttered.

On the other hand, I absolutely despise the set used for WNT and TW, WBR, Sports Today, etc............

IIRC BBC WORLD now occupies N9, the original home of NEWS 24 when it started, who now languish in N8.

Admittedly the sets do look similar (as intended) and are often interchanged with the National News studio ( N6) when necessary as we saw the other weekend when N8 was out of action for electrical testing.

When you think about it, it's really good resourse management for BBC News to be able to move broadcasts around without your average viewer noticing too much.

I totally agree with you. The desk, the lights, the wooden floor...everything looks awful.

Thanks all of your comments, especially itsrobert. Your explanation really help me figure it out Laughing

But BBC News 24 is a rolling news channel, isn't that the effect intended?

I do agree with you on the second opposite set BBC World use, it doesn't look good at all!
