Could any one tell me what's the difference between N24's studio and BBC World's? Thanks a lot.
They seem to share the same studio but I know it's impossible Confused

Two seperate studio's and you should have mentioned this in the Newsroom topic. Their is two seperate threads for BBC News 24 and also BBC World, you should have asked this question in one of them threads.

Thanks from Andrew.

They share a set overnight (between 1am-6am GMT?) but otherwise they have their own set.

EDIT: Corrected studio and set error.

Not really. This question isn't what I'd call "general day-to-day goings on". It is a specific question about the sets of two channels and quite rightly deserves its own thread.

To help answer your question, BBC News 24 and BBC World have separate sets (they aren't called 'studios' because they are housed in office space, not in a proper studio - like the BBC1 News) but both are located at TVC in London. Between 0100 and 0500 GMT, BBC World and News 24 join forces and broadcast solely from the N24 set (unless there is some work being done, in which case they decamp to World). They do look very similar (which was what the BBC aimed for) but there are several differences. For instance, there are three parts to the N24 set but only one at World (although, the set used for The World and World News Today is just opposite the main news set, so I guess you could count it as two), and the screens by the presenters are another clue - N24 has very large ones on both sides of the desk as well as another in the second area. BBC World only has one small screen next to the news presenter - the secondary presenter (business/sport) doesn't have one anymore. You can also tell by the top of the desk. N24's is solid white and the presenters use laptops. BBC World has a glass-topped desk and uses built in computers.

Hope that helps Smile

News 24's studio has two large projectors either side of the desk, a large bright newsroom, with two mini presenting areas in the 'wings' of the studio.

World's studio, includes a darker newsroom, with an area of monitors on a black wall, a smaller desk, and two smaller plasma screens either end of the desk.

As mentioned above, it's a set rather than a studio.

Again, studio. Note that, again as mentioned above, the BBC World main set has only a single plasma screen located to the presenter's right (or to the left of the presenter from the viewer's perspective); there is no longer a plasma screen at the opposite end of the desk, as clearly seen in the image in one of the above posts.

Why is their no longer a screen on the right of the BBC WORLD set?

There hasn't been one in there since October 2004... well around that month.

There are no monitors on a black wall on BBC World, maybe in the gallery but no black walls are to be seen on air.

I thought a black wall with moniters could be seen in the newsroom, behind the presenters?
