In the same way short change was made too , im guessing?

Didn't Short Change come from the BBC building in Eailing Broadway?

No, Short Change used to be filmed in the CBBC office block, East Tower (at TVC), up until the last series, which was filmed at Elstree.

I wouldn't be surprised if they disposed of Marylebone High Street and moved everything there to TVC or BH once the project was finished

That is the home of BBC London is it not?

Yes, and the BBC Govenors (or whatever they are now) are based there too. I'd have though all the small isolated BBC premises like that in London will be got rid of eventually. It's also in a very expensive part of town, no idea if the beeb own it, but if they do it'll be worth a bit

BBC Training and Development are also in there. It's where they hold the Upfront induction course which all new BBC employees go on.

BBC London's based in an extension that sticks out the back - the bit where they present the TV news from is actually right next to the door, so there's a sign on it telling you the times of day when you're not allowed to let it slam.

The building's quite big, so other bits of the Beeb may be based there too.

hmm the cost of getting bogs and boilers to fit a mechanism to it so it won't slam was obviously too much then?

Most likely - you'd have to call the facilities company, who probably subcontract it to some building maintenance people, who then hire some freelance joiners. *scratches chin*.. Oooh, it's gonna cost you, mate.

I was interviewed on 94.9 a couple of months ago, and I was surprised that you had to walk right into the TV studio area to get into the radio studios. I realised then why I'd been asked to arrive at 1.40 - right after the lunchtime bulletin had finished.

Last I heard BBC London was going to Broadcasting House & training, research development to Manchester. It all changes from month to month and Broadcasting House might just be ready for 2012 if someone makes up thier mind if there is going to be a glass front on the place or not Confused

Getting back to the original questions. I recall years ago when BBC News moved to W12 that the biggest issue was getting lazy MPs and other Government spokespeople to get "all the way to Shepherds Bush" (what an effort for the poor people) to be interviewed on Today and PM etc to put their various points to the Nation.

No doubt it will be easier for these people to entertain us with their notions once BBC News moves back to W1A and they can take in a bit of west end shopping on their way back to Westminster. - All political I suspect.

You can see the radio studios behind the newsreader, before the current set was there you could see the door to the studios too

No - I think originally Short Change was just shot using camcorders - rather than a live production gallery in an OB truck parked by East Tower. Might be wrong. Not sure about the more recent Elstree ones.
