Not expecting much but I'd not be surprised if something like this appeared!

That mock-up isn't all that bad, Mike! How did you achieve it?

Well they wouldn't be the first media group to go there!

Trinity Mirror(Locally owners of the Brum Mail & Sunday Mercury) are already there.

Wasn't there a rumour of Central going there at one point?

Well there has already been television studios there, as there was a wine shopping channel based there for a short while.

Surely that's just network production lol

Presumably there will be a lot of unused space once the network production moves out?

I wouldn't be surprised if the corporation vacated the Mailbox within the next couple of years.

25 year contractual lease though, still got 17 years left on that!

You can always negotiate out of a lease. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved to smaller offices over the next few years.

In addition you would expect a break clause(s) in a 25 year lease quite possibly the first after ten years.

It's a 3 walled, 1 window studio, not an L shape, more a 'U' if anything with the top end being a window with a glass door in it. Nick Owen said "We're no longer going to look out of this window, we're moving over there!" and pointed to the other end of the studio, where the cameras are

One advantage of losing the window shot is that there's no distractions from staff going home during the evening bulletin.

If the camera was on the right shot at the right time, at the right angle, during the 0625 at Breakfast, you were able to see Phil Upton coming down the corridor to the WM studios!

Except the North West.

Well they have to be different seeing as they're sapping the money from everywhere else...

MT will do us all proud I think, with the opening ceremony conducted by Kay and Michael Collie's Brylcreme. The new set will be a life size replica of the Pebble Mill conservatory with the newsroom panels outside the window and first bulletin presented by Kay in a bamboo chair slowly sipping coconut milk...

Praise Kay.

Back to serious discussion, I'm not expecting much unless they move the gallery and corridor and extend the studio by another 5 feet in both directions...

I refer to the entire 'BBC North project' - not just North West Tonight, and even then they're pretty close to all other regions.

I know they're NOT, I'm just saying that whatever will struggle to look good - it's a very small studio!
