Considering Mike's already said its a mock he did, I'd say you're right. Wink

I'll try to read the page properly instead of quickly skimming through next time. Laughing

I know it's temporary, but the gap between the edge of the window and the film or blind they've used looks really poor on screen.

I agree, but it's the best they've got - it's to try and stop auto-cue reflecting and nothing else...

Why not shove panels up like they do for The Sunday Politics?

Any ideas when the new studio will be on TV for the first time?

Nick just said they won't be looking through the window anymore and pointed to the oppersite side of the studio and said they'd be moving over there.

Wednesday 6th June is the date.

So 19 days to change a set. What happened to them being magically done overnight - or at least over a weekend.

There might be a lot of lighting or other technical changes to do, as well as removing the window through the newsroom and so on. Look North Yorkshire took 3 weeks to do their set because IIRC they had all the lighting replaced.

Cost savings? Perhaps it involves structural changes?

AFAIK are they actually removing the window? From what I hear, I'm under the impression that the new set is just going to be facing the other way.

Two or three weeks isn't that long a time to change a set, especially if it is a major change and might also include upgrades to equipment at the same time. Plus, you'd also need to allow time for the production team and presenters to pilot in the new set. It all doesn't just happen overnight.

I think they'd be silly to, as the large newsroom view does a lot to compensate for the tiny studio space. Hopefully they're just expanding the set to encompass the other side of the studio as well.
