The whole programme seems a bit lazy presentation-wise. The mixture of music from the previous package and the originally-ditched 2008 stuff is quite jarring and they often use the daytime backdrop in the late bulletins.

I hate that set too. It looks ridiculous with those tiny little plasmas.

I don't think I've seen them use daytime backdrop on lates but I have seen them use a pitch black backdrop on early breakfast bulletins.

I totally agree with regards to the music though, it's jarring. Pres wise it's gone downhill, there's no longer a wideshot post titles, ever since the headlines went live and it cheapens the broadcast, the graphics themselves seem to have gotten sharper mind since they first introduced them in March.

The set is something you can't do anything about given the space, and looks fine on locked shots - but I do agree in wides the 'tiny' (65 inches) LED panels don't look great, but that might be down to bad camera work by the floor assistant/camera op/cleaner/lighting technician

Always thought those Sport graphics were fuzzy.

I did tell them on Facebook.

There we are, Chris - see your point. 2235 and light blue daytime window view. How sodding lazy!

Anyone clocked Dan Pallet doing some Sport shifts on the News Channel?

I'm guessing it's while the usual suspects are down Wimbledon way.

I guess Mary Rhodes is working for Radio Wimbledon again, which why we've got Malin again.

Nick live in Smethwick today, to report on the recycling plant fire, blamed on a stray Chinese Lantern.

I think MT intended to spend a lot longer covering the Tipton explosion but their live link broke up.

It was also breaking up when the same link was used on the Six!

Must admit I work a couple of miles from Tipton & the first I heard of this was when I got home tonight!

Another week of Malin? I thought she was freelance so no sign of PQF at BBC Midlands.
Surely she should be rehearsing her panto?

Wrong on so many levels! They're arguably the worst hit network production base and English Region, literally surviving on a skeleton crew...

About 60% of the floor space at the Mailbox is now empty on all 4 levels

Bit of classic 2003 Midlands Today on this week's 'The Routemasters' on BBC Two, was strange seeing the analogue Pebble Mill output upscaled to HD 16:9..
