On a sort of personal note, Malin posted on Facebook (& shared by someone that works at the same company I do!) that she was doing a bit of corparate work for one of our subsidaries!
So less than a year after it was first installed what has happened to Midlands Today's set?
It's only natural damage can happen but on camera you can really notice the joins between perspex panels now, and scuffs and tape around the edge of the desk. It's not looking good and might need a bit of relighting - it seems since Late Kick Off used the corner of the set the lightboxes look washed out and grey and not at all as impressive as when it first went live...
I know a lot of this can be adjusted using the CCUs in the gallery and you can make the picture look less washed out but it seems to be bad lighting (incidentally that's how they account for LED panel viewing angles, by adjusting the CCUs), I've been on a break from watching Midlands Today with other things, saw it for the first time in a while tonight and was just shocked at how bad everything's looking now!
The whole programme seems a bit lazy presentation-wise. The mixture of music from the previous package and the originally-ditched 2008 stuff is quite jarring and they often use the daytime backdrop in the late bulletins.
I hate that set too. It looks ridiculous with those tiny little plasmas.
