I think the non-descript blob maps have had their day. It will most likely be a version of North West Tonight's.

Will BBC London get themselves some special titles during the olympics?

They have but I'm going for nostalgia points - that was a mock I made in early 2010 would you believe, never saw the light of day!

The variation has been somewhat non-existent since moving to The Mailbox..

2004 saw this (sans box under desk etc initially)

2007 the desk was fixed, sofa recovered and restuffed and floor cleaned

2010 saw the biggest change of the lot, going from the above to a hybrid of the new national style - this wasn't to do with size but more they used existing programme budget to achieve it rather than asking for extra funding...

I recently went on a tour of the Midlands Today set and it's shockingly small, and I think that comes across on-screen. It's normally okay when it's deceptively big but that one isn't.

Hopefully the new set will allow for more interesting camera shots than simply the head shot. At the moment, they can't seem to get a wide shot with the presenter and the projector screen.

Not being a Midlands Today viewer, I have to say there is not much wrong with the 2010 set IMO.

Now it's raised it SHOULD give a more pleasing on screen results, might I ask those who can that they capture the first evening bulletin from the newsroom...

Another she tweeted - this is EXACTLY what Midlands Today needs - could it finally be Kay in a bamboo chair!?

Did they do another 2003 inspired promo?

That's the map of the West Midlands government region, rather than the broadcasting area and differs from the previous 2000 era. I'd say it's a mock. Smile

Considering Mike's already said its a mock he did, I'd say you're right. Wink
