Surprised no naughty insider has tweeted a picture of the set yet.

Personally, I see no reason for more licence payer's money being spent on yet another makeover. When you think that Midlands Today is only broadcast for about hour a day Mon to Fri and just a few minutes at weekends, a new studio is completely unnecessary.

You're right, completely unnecessary. Infact why don't they present the news broadcasts from an abandoned factory to help save money? Sure the factory won't look as nice, and it may have a few homeless people walking in on the shots, but it will help reduce the costs! You never know, they may also be able to stretch to a tin of red paint and make it fit into the 'uniform' BBC News branding.

Or is the paint pushing it a bit? What with the cost it would be to the television licence payers money.....

I assume from your sarcastic reply you're more than happy for you licence fee to be wasted by the BBC. Personally, I'm not.

I think you've missed his point.

I don't think I missed his point at all.

New set live on Breakfast bulletins? Is it a set fit for a Midlands Broadcasting Queen? If only Kay was launching it! Still, 10 hours to it happens Very Happy

I must say this lack of preview or leakage sort of adds to the geeky excitement...

No sofa, new cameras - black chairs - could it be Midlands Today going back to its roots? Smile Find out, lunchtime tomorrow...

What a voice - he was really good. I wonder why it never got past the pilot stage! I hear he delivers the Bugle now.
