First of all, before the non-moderator pedant brigade decides to wade in, I did try to post in the existing BBC London thread, but it's been archived. So there.

I was just watching the BBC London special webcast bulletin, as I'd not noticed it before, and I noticed a couple of elements that I haven't seen on the TV bulletins.

The supers used for name/title etc are identical to those used on the television newscasts, although they use a branded 'HEADLINES' strap on the webcast which I've not seen on TV before. Additionally, they use a headline wipe animation that is very similar, if not identical, to that used on the Nationals - is this a clue to how things will look on the revamped regional news bulletins, or have they just pinched the wipe from the Nationals because it was easier and cheaper than creating a dedicated BBC London version?

Here's a cheeky cap:

The layout looks very similar to the BBC London daily podcasts that used to run daily. The headline wipe animation is the same as the national bulletins and this was also used in the podcast. I haven't got a clue about the costing side of things and why they decided to pinch this from the national bulletins though! Confused

Kelly Holmes is presenting the sports news on BBC London News now.

Very robotic-like reading the autocue.

Hmmm equivalent of Denise Lewis on Midlands Today, would she be?
(Wasn't too fond of her presenting skills, in a live situation!)

Also similar to Tessa Sanderson's short stint presenting the sport on Newsroom South East.

Didn't Kelly Holmes do the sport on South East Today for a while?

Interesting start to tonight's programme - they showed various clips of Newsroom South East talking about Crossrail, the clips included Guy Michaelmore and Tim Ewart.

I will try and post some caps later.

Everyone's been doing similar things - the Standard had half a page of its Crossrail headlines from 1990 to the present - and London Tonight had clips of Paul Greene and Carrie Frais reading Crossrail on/off stories.

Ah but since we have had BBC London, NSE has neber to my knowledge been mentioned Wink

Some of the past editors of BBC London, especially the one who launched the programme didn't like to reference Newsroom Southeast (I always thought it sounded like a railway!) or acknowledge it in any way

That would make sense with my earlier statement.
