they have GOT to replace the logo and titles - they just don't fit! In fact, what about bringing back the 'London Live' from the trash - makes it a lot more personal and community-like. Love the new studio and I actually think in a way the desk-box-table thing works better maybe than the Breakfast desk would (and again takes away the nationals relationship) but I think it being the same block of red doesn't work - means everything is either red or white! When are they bringing the new graphics/ titles (if they are) and have they not realised that it's better to have a total relaunch of graphics and studios at once?

I presume that there is a problem with the graphics because according to the inital press release they should have launched last month. Although i do believe the Virtz system is being used a little, for example its capital costs segment this week. There is also a theory that the BBC are waiting for all of the regions to be using the Virtz system later this year so they can launch new graphics at the same time across all of the regions. I am sure it won't be too long before the graphics change for the better, and Gill Sans will mostly dissappear from the regions, although it will remain in the titles.

BBC London News do seem to be big fans of "tweaking".

They've just got a new programme editor, each one has their own ideas

Wasn't "BBC Marylebone" some sort of a BBC training centre or something, before LDN existed? (Which had to be converted, hence the lack of an "actual studio").

It still is a training centre and now also houses the BBC Trust (The Governors as was).

The bit that BBC London is in was home to Radio London/GLR (there's some pics of the offices in the Radio London days here) There was a training TV studio in another building behind. This was to be used for the main programme with the current studio area being used for short bulletins. However they decided that sharing the studio wasn't a good idea and the architecture of the office was nice enough to show it off. It's converted office space (not quite a corridor) but was always intended to be a studio.

Given the fact that various stuff is being moved out of "BBC Shepherd's Bush" (i.e. TVC) and into various other BBC sites (the extended Broadcasting House; Manchester/Salford; possibly BBC White City (?); etc etc) over the coming years, does anyone know if London regional stuff will move from Marylebone to, say, Broadcasting House too?

It's bound to move to BH alongside news eventually, there was a plan many years ago to move BBC South East (as was) into Broadcasting House, but it never happened

I could see that studio expanding across the UK. A red box with the programme name or location on with red and white throughout...

I was thinking exactly the same.

It's clearly Channel 4 'inspired' but looks very nice. I wouldn't mind seeing something simular on Midlands Today.

Anyone notice how dragonhhjh posted caps and none of you thanked him yet you comment about them, terribly rude.

You might do soon.

The titles are a bit plain. I think they should include Big Bens clockface in the titles (in cgi form). Something like the region with the lighthouse motif (can't think of what it is). After all BBC News are famous for ''going live to Westminster''.

Is this the studio where "Dateline London" is broadcast - if so, will they add "Dateline" onto the "London" box?
As a previous poster said, Dateline is broadcast from N8, the News 24 studio; though up until a couple of years ago it was broadcast in the Westminster newsroom.

Many thanks for the info

He wasn't the only one to post caps, and to be honest I think since people are in the thread discussing the images that is sort of thanks in kind, which has got to be better than posting images and them being ignored surely?!

i think it looks awful!! the single chair looks out of place, why cant they just remain standing, that would look good with the big screen, the chair in the wide shot looks awful and out of place bring back the days of standing up

I have to say that i completely disagree with you, standing would look awful. For starters the platform which they are sat on is too high to stand up, meaning that viewers would see even more of the celing, plus the lighting would not be that great, this was proven the other day when Riz was walking from the screen to her seat, a horrible shadow was cast onto the set.

I think that the new set is very modern and makes much better use of the space than the previous two looks.
