I think they're getting confused with BBC London regional news and the BBC National Westminster newsroom.

Thanks for the caps James, it isnt actually that bad, they just need a proper news desk where that table is!

I quite like the red cube table, but the word "LONDON" on it is too big. Looks really odd.

I could see that studio expanding across the UK. A red box with the programme name or location on with red and white throughout...

It looked terrible when they were mid way through the change, as I said before it did look like a topshop store. The set and newsroom look really nice now its complete. I dont like that table though. Whats wrong with a desk?

I don't think it'd be good to have a desk for regional news, like South East Today, I think it looks too national, and not so "open", as regional news should be.

BBC London News do seem to be big fans of "tweaking".

I'm very impressed with the latest changes. Seeing as their "studio" is a glorified corridor, they've been making a good job of making it look a lot more like a proper studio/set, over the course of the last few refreshes/revamps.

The original LDN look really did look like just a corridor.

Wasn't "BBC Marylebone" some sort of a BBC training centre or something, before LDN existed? (Which had to be converted, hence the lack of an "actual studio").

Given the fact that various stuff is being moved out of "BBC Shepherd's Bush" (i.e. TVC) and into various other BBC sites (the extended Broadcasting House; Manchester/Salford; possibly BBC White City (?); etc etc) over the coming years, does anyone know if London regional stuff will move from Marylebone to, say, Broadcasting House too?

Given the likelyhood that TVC/Shepherd's Bush may well be completely emptied and finished with, I get the impression that the BBC are striving to have as few different BBC sites in Greater London as possible, rather than the umpteen they have currently. Hence, my suspicions that "BBC Marylebone" may also be phased out.

BBC Marylebone High Street is occupied mainly by BBC Training and Development with BBC London occupying the lower part of the building. It's pretty full and I haven't heard of any plans for them to move.

they have GOT to replace the logo and titles - they just don't fit! In fact, what about bringing back the 'London Live' from the trash - makes it a lot more personal and community-like. Love the new studio and I actually think in a way the desk-box-table thing works better maybe than the Breakfast desk would (and again takes away the nationals relationship) but I think it being the same block of red doesn't work - means everything is either red or white! When are they bringing the new graphics/ titles (if they are) and have they not realised that it's better to have a total relaunch of graphics and studios at once?

I presume that there is a problem with the graphics because according to the inital press release they should have launched last month. Although i do believe the Virtz system is being used a little, for example its capital costs segment this week. There is also a theory that the BBC are waiting for all of the regions to be using the Virtz system later this year so they can launch new graphics at the same time across all of the regions. I am sure it won't be too long before the graphics change for the better, and Gill Sans will mostly dissappear from the regions, although it will remain in the titles.

Is this the studio where "Dateline London" is broadcast - if so, will they add "Dateline" onto the "London" box?
As a previous poster said, Dateline is broadcast from N8, the News 24 studio; though up until a couple of years ago it was broadcast in the Westminster newsroom.
