(Sorry if there's already a BBC London relevant thread but I did look but could not find one)

Not very often I watch BBC London...

But tonight's 10:30 bulletin was a bit of a mess...

Firstly a report failed to play, to which Victoria Hollins said they would "come back to that later"... then just as she handed to Peter Cockroft for the weather, the time obviously ran out on the opt and it immediately cut back to the 10 O clock news!

It has happened many times before, either they cocked the timing up or they simply let the bulletin overrun.

Tonight was really a shambles though, could not really have been less smooth.

I wondered why NWT had the camera still showing the reporter for 5 seconds before they switched back.. waiting for that unreliable BBC London! Razz

Actually network will cut away from BBC London if they over-run.

It's not a new thing, there was a story about them both in the Mail/ Evening Standard last month and another one the other week about him bigging up one of of her parents businesses.

A right mess

I tend to avoid papers from *that* group for obvious reasons, hence me missing out on it.

The previous stories seem to have been pulled from the Mail website and ThisisLondon, but you can still read the Mail piece via the Google cache.

i noticed that BBC London's set has been updated a little. Some of the frosted glass pannels have been removed and replaced by red glass panels ala News 24. Also it looks like the bar has gone, and Riz has aquired a clear perspex chair. You could not see many of the changes, so perhaps they are still being developed, so could we see the introduction of a complete new look next week with the arrival of the new graphics as well.

I have to say though that the shots of the studio tonight make it look very modern.

It is cheap and nasty, looks haphazard too. Instead of tinkering it would be nice to have a complete overhaul of the set.
