I saw the short opening/closing titles the other day, and my, were they cheap looking. They look like they've been done in Powerpoint with all the fancy effects on the words. Not a fan I have to say. Laughing

I have to say i'm absolutely fed up with the short titles, they are on every bulletin (except 6.30) and they have been on all over the christmas holidays. Absolutely awful, and the worst thing is that they make the longer titles look quite good (as much as it pains me to say it!)

What do you suggest i watch then to get local NEWS? I am hardly going to turn over to ITV and watch London Tonight which has 1 news story then 27 mins of celebrity fluff. I would rather watch BBC LONDON and get 4 news stories and only 10 mins of fluff! Laughing

i really hate responses like this. This is a discussion board - where people watch and discuss elements of TV presentation which may or may not be to their liking. It is a very easy concept to grasp.

On here, it seems this is not the case, it OBVIOUSLY is a very difficult subject to grasp!

Ah, but if they use the short titles there's 20 seconds more news!

Why was the decision taken to remove the downstairs part of the programme? Its just stuck now in a little corner, with everything blinded by a huge projection screen!

The titles would have looked better if the images were b&w, with the old music.

That happened a very long time ago. They exchanged the downstairs section for a (then) new part of the upstairs studio that they use for sit-down discussions, it's not used very often though

If you are talking about the area to the right of the set with images from London on, i have not seen this area used since the last relaunch.

Funnily enough they used that section a couple of times last week. They have some horrible red plastic chairs, and new backing panels with image stills and diagonal lines printed on them as opposed to the old black and white title stills, its just to the right of the desk, as was seen onscreen last wednesday.
