It sounds like a David Lowe piece, I dont like it, not as distinct as the previous theme.
I think they should have done something similar to the BBC Local TV titles, because BBC News has dispensed with pulsating rings, datastream bands like on the BBC News24/World countdown?
wizzing through the streets of London (Landmarks, people etc) to a more unbeat version of the previous theme, like BBC Look North version used a few years ago for Lunchtime shows.
Just a Thought
Horrible horrible horrible! The original 'LDN' titles may not have made much sense but they were the best titles Ive seen for a long time in that they were contemporary, had a fantastic set of music and looked very different to anything before. Unfortunatly these new ones are also very different to anything previous in that they look like one of the bad mocks off this site. The music doesnt fit with the images, the bands look naff and the way the music just suddenly ends is poor. The whole thing looks amateurish and whoever designed this should be ashamed.
Very intresting titles, personally I think they're rubbish, with the fastest paced music I've heard and slowest visuals it just doesn't work. Is this a David Lowe creation, in house or someone else?

If i was a new viewer to BBC LONDON and the first thing i saw was the new titles i would think that the programme is cheap with very little news impact. This would result in me thinking that London Tonight was the high quality regional news programme for the region, as their music has far more authority.
I think the new music for the programme would be more suited as a piece of countdown music for one of the BBC's news channels. What was wrong with the old titles and music, they had authority and although the BBC had ditched the pulses a couple of years ago every other region which has been relaunched has retained them.
I am also very suprised that the onscreen captions have not been changed to the new corporate news font, Swiss. I don't think that the new graphics are dog safe on news 24 either, so are surely going to have to be realunched next year (We can only hope).
Absolutely hideous, the music is crap and ends far to abrubtly, there is no headline sequence, it has lost its main feature - it was a classic BBC drums and beeps theme.
I have to say the music is good. Would suit a new variation of the old titles, just not the ones that look like they have been done in a cheep nock off of flash.

Your both joking right? Its awful and lacks the same punch of the other one, and the end, that stupid beep is just rubbish compared to the sting of the old one.
It could be tweaked to improve, but its just too boring and does not stand out in the same way the old one did.
