Unusual for the late London bulletin to over-run, we opted back in the middle of Peters weather forecast, never mind.

Well Points West opted back in just as Huw was saying goodbye and i thought it was wierd that they overshot. So presumably for some reason they started the national headlines too early if the London bulletin overshot too

Yep we crashed in here in Yorkshire too - sounds like the same time as Points West.

Unlike the other regions London normally doesn't have a choice in a situation like this - the National news studio or presentation will cut them off at the time they think they should be starting the next thing

Don't think it was London running over - think there was a timing issue with network - as other regions had problems. (London was cut off early - but some other regions carried on for their full time so appeared to be late re-joining network?)

Sounds like all the regions, including London, were working towards one out-time .... but network were working towards an earlier one.

London was cut off because they don't opt-out, the other regions do so continued until they finished

Sounds a bit far-out-ish but what's stopping the Ten recording Huw's last round up and bye bye at about 9.55pm and then making it available for all regions to opt in when they like? Obviously not when there's still major breaking news at 10pm but still, saves rushed / amateur-looking regional presentation.

Or does this highlight exactly what's wrong with regional opt-outs and it's time to go back to two seperate programmes rather than a half-assed integrated one? The junction on the One is just so lame with the headline bed fading in and out and the presenter saying goodbye a full sentence before they go.

I've said something similar on another thread, but why doesn't the N6 presenter close at 1025 with the headlines, then something like 'That's all from me. Coming up on News 24 in a few minutes blah blah. Meanwhile on BBC One, the news where you are, but first the weather with XYZ', link to weather. At the end of the weather, slight pause, allowing opt out, local news, then letting the local presenter close the show, (or if the region concerned has a late night opt, the presenter could link into it themselves.)link back into network.

Looks like they've decided to do the Breakfast bulletins from the 'interview' set - the red stripey panels with shots of London on them.
It looks, eh, like they're sitting in front of some rather cheap printed panels.

I think they've got a new carpet for that bit of the set now, though - previously it had a rather grotty wooden floor.

How would this solve anything? The regions would still have to come out on time in order to fit in the pre-record before opting back.

Why do BBC LONDON insist on having a completely different title sequence to the rest of the English regions? Everyone else has just managed to get in line and then London change theirs?

What makes them so special? Rolling Eyes

Because they lead and the rest will follow!?

They need to sort out their headlines - the text is still sometimes too long for the screen - instead of 'Wish You were here' all I could see tonight was ''wish you were he'
