It all boils down to his "humour". Best ignoring it really. I'm suprised he hasn't been banned for the post in the BBC News Thread. It's a shame really, he was really nice and got me loads of BBC News pictures when i asked for them. The fame must have gone to his head.
I had some extremely bad caps from my mobile of the BBC London debate last week which I've not been able to upload yet - so I'm pleased to have found these two little pics on MTN. For the benefit of those who missed it, or who are interested but live outside the region: the 1830 programme on BBC ONE dipped in and out of the debate, which continued exclusively via RealPlayer streaming through the BBC London website.
And here are the two shots from the debate itself, including the (frankly quite nice) BBC London desk. They should get rid of that stupid breakfast bar in the studio and park the desk in there instead, even if they do insist on the presenters sitting on top of it.
An audience of around 50 people were also at the debate, which appeared to be taking place in a small cinema.
That looks like the News 24 desk but with the BBC London banner wrapped round it. I like it, much more authoritive than the "breakfast bar" as it was described earlier. However, a breakfast bar is better than nothing, remember they made interviewees stand before the set tweaks?
Red Bee Media created an identity based on a distinctive, but functional red and white design. It includes diagonal wipe sequences to clearly brand the news and provide a clear divide between stories. Lower thirds have also been introduced into the ‘headline’ sequence as a way of flagging up more of the stories that will be featured in the following news programme.
The identity features a title sequence with images that Londoners can identify with. Red Bee Media initially provided a library of over 600 still and moving images, but photos and film clips that viewers send in can also be featured.
The identity was created in ‘Final Cut Pro’ on a desktop to ensure BBC London News could also use the software to easily adapt the title sequence and graphic tool kit.
Some good fun on this evening's BBC London News. Riz Lateef was experimenting with a new "dining in the dark" experience, where diners are forced to dine in absolute pitch black. Some very entertaining images of diners including Riz completely humiliating themselves while trying to eat in the dark, all of which proved too much for Emily Maitlis who was in hysterics when they returned to the studio, and failing to gain any composure, bursting into giggles even as she tried to move forward with the next story.
On a presentation note, at around 1850, there was a mixture of the new brighter location strap on the right, along with the old LIVE bug in the darker red.
This Thursday is Emily's last BBC LONDON. There is still no news on a replacement, but Riz Lateef is presenting more Friday Evening Bulletins that Ashad is, so could she be taking over during the week to? I suprised there has not been a press release by now. By the way Emily start on Newsnight on 1st April according to the Independent on Sunday.
