At least they're not using Studio E!
Strange that they are using the new studios not TV Centre, that's spoiled the relaunch a tad, particularly if it continues at 6 & 10.

Yes, you'd have thought that they'd stick with the old place as that would be more familiar on an unusual day, especially to freelancers. However if they're working on reduced staffing and sharing more between channels it does make sense to have everything from the same place, and I suppose it gives everyone a live rehearsal

It normally airs on NC weekends at 2:30pm, it's definitely aired on NC many times before!
Thanks for the info! Now I know.
I really thought Our World is only for World News. I never heard that airing on the News Channel before...
EDIT: It's just like WN back then, after a news bulletin, it went straight to something else. No news summary.

I'm surprise they've simulcasted this time (the past couple times they've had separate service). Anyway, I guess Half Term has caused even more presenters to be unavailable this time.

Yeah, saw World News in 2010 showing some pre-recorded bulletins and programmes.
That habit of simulcasting both channels during the strike also happened in 2005. The problem was that time, they prioritised BBC1's bulletins. I woke up back then to BBC World showing the Ten O'Clock News, how strange.

It doesn't seem to be going very well today - they usually cope better than this, don't they? Breakfast was cancelled, and we had a Gavin Grey news spectacular, with the back half-hour a pre-record. Do World usually manage to do their own thing, or do they always simulcast with the NC? Although, to be honest, it isn't really obvious it's a simulcast, bar the studio, no references to the time, and any stories about the UK being more general than usual 'The
British
environment secretary...'

Yep they usually put out some sort of Breakfast programme don't they? I think this is the first time they have had to fill the back half hours with the likes of Bargain Hunt and Escape to the Country. And usually they keep World News and the domestic stuff separate.
I wonder if the multiple buildings, NBH/ TVC/Salford has made things more difficult.

Quite disappointed with things so far. This is the first time in my life where I have turned over to watch Daybreak because it is better than the BBC alternative. I think this has to be the worst strike day we've seen. These simulcasts look very dodgy and there wasn't even a proper Breakfast programme. It does seem though that Jon Sopel might be making an appearance later from India interviewing the PM.
