Still no indication of who's presenting tomorrow's Breakfast or whether it will come from Salford? Bill & Susanna are scheduled to present which means Charlie Stayt won't be on tomorrow. I can't imagine Gavin Grey will go up to Salford for Breakfast, perhaps they will use a member of the North West team?

I would expect Breakfast to definitely come from Salford - and I don't see why Gavin Grey wouldn't present it from there either. Though it won't be him presenting if he's on the News Channel late shift tonight! If it's not Gavin I can see it being Roger Johnson or even someone like Fiona Armstrong.

The thing about Gavin Grey is that he usually presents a large chunk of NC as well. Also, Adam Parsons is a possibility since he's already a relief presenter and has appeared during a previous strike day.

If Julia Somerville isn't attached to NUJ, I'd like her to present the Six/Ten but that's not likely to happen. We'll most likely get Chris Rogers again.

Just out of interest have any of these strikes in recent years actually been effective and resulted in any decisions being reversed. In many ways they kind of end up being counter productive by showing the BBC can get a fairly decent standard news service to air with skeleton staff.

It did before under the same circumstances so it will do now.

I'm assuming the midnight BBC News will be a recording of the 23:00 hour.

Breakfast won't be coming from Salford as far as I've been told, instead it will be a simulcast of the News Channel.

Stephen Nolan is finishing at midnight with pre-recorded shows on 5 Live overnight.

With regards to local radio, it really depends on the station, BBC London 94.9 largely were unaffected by using freelancers for news bulletins and most presenters turned up, while other stations had managing editors or news editors reading news bulletins.

I know in the past they haven't been so 'lucky', but it depends on the line-up - you wouldn't normally expect Robert Elms to turn up on a strike day, Danny Baker was the same
