Actually... All races (bar Middle East) celebrate Christmas, I think.

I'll send a Jehovah's Witness round to your doorstep to discuss that assumption, shall I?

Yes thats true, I work with someone who is a Jehovah Witness and she wont go to Xmas parties or sign birthday cards or anything like that.

Erm.. right.

Back on topic, maybe someone like Mark Austin or Andrea Catherwood (again) will do the Christmas Day bulletin.

Maybe Lucy from ITV Wales News could present on Christmas Day on ITV1 if none of the regular ITV News team want to do it

On the Newschannel last year and the previous one I think it was Heather McCarthy, Andrew Harvey, Chris Rogers and Owen Thomas. I wouldn't be surprised if they used Phil Gayle on itv1 this xmas - as he seems the be the face of the Newschannel.

I think that Owen Thomas should do the ITV1 bulletins on Christmas Day, in a Santa hat.

He's the kind of jovial face you'd like to see on Christmas Day.

Yes, I was surprised last year that the ITVNC was the only UK news channel with live rolling news and normal shifts across Christmas. The other two had filler/review programmes seemingly every half hour.

I think Owen Thomas likes to have the xmas period off just like everyone else does. Even when he was doing the ITV Morning News he took a week off. This is of course when Jemma Woodman makes her annual appearance

I bet Phil Gayle will appear though, along with Lloyd Bracey, Heather McCarthy and all those other names that seem to be a last resort

I agree that is would be nice to see Moira doing the BBC1 network bulletins on Christmas Day. Let's start a campaign.

Huw Edwards did it in 2002.
Anna Ford has done Christmas Eve for a few years now.
Moira should do it this year

Last year George Alagiah did Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Wed and Thur); Anna Ford did Boxing Day (Fri); Huw Edwards did the weekend bulletins!; Fiona Bruce and Darren Jordon did the rest of the next week, until Friday when Darren did a 'Lunchtime News' (Same format and duration as the 'One' but at 12:35; Sian and Bill did the Six and Fiona did the Ten.

As for Breakfast: Dermot and Natasha on Christmas Eve, Bill Turnbull on Christmas Day; Jules (Julia!) Botfield did Boxing Day and Bill and Jules that weekend; Sian and Bill did Mon-Wed and Sian did New Year's Day. Bill and Jules did Fri (Yes, he did he Six too!)

Would be great to see Moira on Christmas Day this year in the real N6, rather than the CSO on Breakfast with Frost and The Politics Show, let's all e-mail the BBC and suggest it!!!

OK - I have arranged one of those aircraft that tows a banner to fly across the BBC News Centre for the next twelve days - the slogan will read "WE WANT MOIRA ON CHRISTMAS DAY"

Or should we make it "WE WANT MOIRA ON THE SIX EVERY DAY"?
