Would that be Andrew Neils first election night at the BBC (for a while at least). Despite being the BBC's main political presenter for years he has seemed to turn up on ITV on election night in the past. Usually on a boat. Well, once at least.

No he was present in 2010, even turning up on the aforementioned boat.

In 2010 he was interviewing celebs, and not actual politicians.

Not forgetting of course that the exit polls in America are used to determine the outcome of the Presidential elections! Unbelievable really.

Why is it unbelievable? I think, in all the elections (2000 aside), the US presidential race has only been called wrong once by the media, and that was 1948, well before the era of 24 hour news.

I don't doubt the sincerity and accuracy of the polling, I was just amazed when I first found out that the US election their President without actually counting the ballot papers!

This is what they used in 2010.

As much as I like Arthur, I thought that whole sequence with 5 minutes of bed to introduce the programme worked pretty well.

I thought the crescendo into the exit poll was magnificent.

The titles though kind of fell apart halfway through, not helped I think by the holding title slide at the end being on too long with the music peaking and finishing. Music is great though.

The Election 2015 opening titles are just MAGNIFICENT - and the new opening sequence, up to 2200 and the Exit Poll, is going to be the best you have EVER seen Wink

Oh dear.

Wasn't the 'surprise' he referred to in the opening sequence that they lost power and couldn't broadcast from there for half the night?

I have probably missed this but has it been announced who will be taking over from Jeremy Paxman doing the interviews on the BBC?

Andrew Neil I believe.

The BBC press release says the overnight team will be David Dimbleby, Jeremy Vine, Emily Maitlis, Nick Robinson and Andrew Neil.

ITV had the London Eye and a boat in 2005, and had an " Election Night Party" at County Hall in 2010.

Not really - like here the exit poll only predicts the result. If the count contradicts the prediction it's the count that, welll, counts!

Horrific! Wrong BBC London logo and terrible alignment.

That doesn't half look poor. It looks like a 2/3 star mock on here. Why's the name so much further to the left than the 'BBC London'? Why does the spacing appear to be much greater for the description as opposed to the name? With a couple of simple changes, this could look nice... but it currently looks a mess in my view.

To me it depends how it animates on as in my region (Yorks and Lincs) ours used to animate on so 'awfully' (not sure that's correct) but they have fixed it (it basically animates on like the BBC News straps but about x2 fast)
