Wow, just watched that video and realised how accurate the exit poll was in 2010. Think I might just go to bed at 10:01pm this time round!

In a way they spoil it and may stop people staying up. I wish they wouldn't do them.

In TV terms, It's like announcing at the start of Strictly that one act already is winning by a mile, so don't bother watching the results show!

Yeah I wish they'd do that with the news too. Headlines are such spoilers.
MDQ1, Brekkie and BBCWalesToday gave kudos

Headlines are so bloody long nowadays you don't have to watch the news - sequences seem to go on for a couple of minutes now compared to just 30 seconds or so little over a decade ago.

I don't think an exit poll has any effect on election ratings really - it's something people are either going to watch or aren't going to bother.

The Exit Poll is handy in that it gives them something to talk about until the results start to come in.

Not forgetting of course that the exit polls in America are used to determine the outcome of the Presidential elections! Unbelievable really.

This is what they used in 2010.

As much as I like Arthur, I thought that whole sequence with 5 minutes of bed to introduce the programme worked pretty well.

I thought the crescendo into the exit poll was magnificent.

The titles though kind of fell apart halfway through, not helped I think by the holding title slide at the end being on too long with the music peaking and finishing. Music is great though.

The Election 2015 opening titles are just MAGNIFICENT - and the new opening sequence, up to 2200 and the Exit Poll, is going to be the best you have EVER seen Wink

Oh dear.

It's pretty awesome!

Thanks for this, Mike! Been hoping for a clean version for the last 5 years!

I have probably missed this but has it been announced who will be taking over from Jeremy Paxman doing the interviews on the BBC?

Andrew Neil I believe.

The BBC press release says the overnight team will be David Dimbleby, Jeremy Vine, Emily Maitlis, Nick Robinson and Andrew Neil.

Are these 'the Leader Interviews'?

Currently, Evan Davis is in a series shown on BBC One, Nick Clegg's interview was on Monday and David Cameron's was on Wednesday. Tomorrow (Monday) will be Evan's interview with Ed Miliband, Wednesday will be Nigel Farage and then Monday 27th will be Nicola Sturgeon.

There was an interview on BBC Parliament as part of the series where Bethan Rhys Roberts talks to Leanne Wood, that was shown on Friday 9:45pm.

Would that be Andrew Neils first election night at the BBC (for a while at least). Despite being the BBC's main political presenter for years he has seemed to turn up on ITV on election night in the past. Usually on a boat. Well, once at least.
