When it's to prove you wrong, I think they're both relevant and welcome.

So nasty. So rude. So typical. Still wrong.

No need to be quite so aggressive! I actually agree with you about the set (as mentioned in the rest of my post) - I think it's a bit busy this time, but await seeing it properly on the night. It's just easy to forget that the BBC don't put on the colosseum view for the hell of it - there's good reason for using the biggest studio space in the UK.

I wasnt being quite so aggressive! If thats the way you took it....sorry if you felt that way.

Well that doesn't look very virtual!

Wouldn't mind knowing how that works...

One thing that might have been good is if Huw referred to it as the BBC's "election centre", like Dimbleby did at the start of the 2014 local elections coverage. To the average viewer, "election studio" is quite mundane, whereas "election centre" is more punchy - and indeed, probably more accurately reflects what's going on in the background.

The average viewer really couldn't give a toss.

A "virtual map" doesn't necessarily mean the surface of the map is virtual. It's going to be a bit dull if all she's doing is walking over some hexagons, and I can think of a huge number of different "virtual" effects you could apply to the basic map, from bringing up statistics / results, to highlighting them, to replacing them with video feeds and even "holographic" correspondents coming out of the tiles. All of those would justify calling it a "virtual map", but we'll have to wait and see what they're actually going to do with it.

Don't forget that she's on the NBH piazza... which as you've seen from previous tests, has projection mapping taking place

I assume that the grey hexagon is Buckingham, which is odd because usually the BBC counts it as Conservative.

It may have back in 2010 when showing the previous election results. However assuming current map's showing the 2010 result it shows grey as it was won by 'the speaker seeking re-election', who as such is politically neutral.
