I think this shows why ITV aren't spending too much on the presentation, especially when the BBC are going all out against them.

Also, I suppose the kind of people who choose ITV for the kind of event where the BBC generally dominates are unlikely to care much about what it looks like.

That's perhaps the same logic that Sky News applied in 2010 when they didn't have a special studio and mostly just presented on location.

Camera angles were specific and carefully shot on today's One Show to not get the UK map outside on screen for a period of time.

I've just seen the trailer for ITV's coverage. Shocked

Apparently no expense was involved in the slight tweaking to the CGI background, and it seems Julie Etchingham still has to manage with an imaginary touchscreen.

When a broadcaster makes so little effort, perhaps it would be better if they didn't try at all. Just stick a decent film on, for those who aren't interested at all in the election.

I am not keen on that Election studio... It's very harsh on the eyes, and watching it for hours, will be a bit straining.

The white X on the front of the desk looks a bit odd.

The studio is great, even though there are many elements of 2010 still remaining.

Love the crane shot during the titles! Very Happy

Ooh that zoom in on the desk with the big X in front of it was quite nice. The LED screens that were behind the newsroom people at the last election look to be a higher resolution this time round, so hopefully the images on then will still be distinguishable when zoomed in.

I'm surprised they've still unveiled the studio tonight, with it being in Elstree rather than just down a corridor. I suppose they did broadcast the BBC News from a high rise block of council flats in 2012 so coming from a distant location isn't a big issue.

What were those moving lights all about when they went live to James Landale? A bit Strictly for the 10.
