Sorry if there is already a thread, but couldn't find one for the region.

New name for EMT tonight on the late bulletin. Navtej Johal tweeted a photo of the new set

Spot the difference? Join me tonight for your *NEW* late news at 10:25pm on BBC1 in the East Midlands.

Missed the main bulletin, but it appears not to have changed.

I quite like the blue lighting, it compliments the set, the 60 seconds round up of the news was useful as well.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed they changed the name to Tonight when I watched! Navtej i believe is new to presenting to (although I believe he did some of the inserts during the old 90 second updates) and has also recently appeared on Network News as a correspondent.

Trying to shake any link to the former sub-opt status? Noticed that Norwich or one of the ‘North’s produce a ‘Look East/North Late’ too.

Shame about the dodgy BBC logo again (wrong glyphs, not the correct ‘C’) - how on earth that poor reproduction ever entered circulation, let alone BBC computers is beyond me!

Doubt it, just a strange move, but fair play to them for trying. My comment was more tongue in cheek than serious

The lower thirds still say "BBC East Midlands Today" though...

I just saw Tuesdays' bulletin on the iPlayer, the astons have been corrected.

Thinking about it, I love the blue lighting and different branding for the late bulletin, it's a nice idea and a slightly different format which is nice to see - particularly come out of BBC English Regions

I don't like the way the presenter walks on though, it's jarring and makes the bulletin seem rushed without intending to, and is a little bit weird - everyone knows that the presenters are in the studio before a bulletin (not even a TVF thing that we all know, joe public know as well). I'd sack that off. Other than that liking the roundup of headlines, maybe a blue accent to the astons instead of red? Differentiate this bulletin from the breakfast, lunch and evening bulletins even further?

Nottingham is now ahead of its counterpart in Birmingham in terms of style, all their bulletins appear much fresher in comparison. Time for a rethink at The Mailbox.

100% Agree, but a lot of it comes down to budgets and care. If you've got staff that frankly don't care or have been massively downsized since 2008 you will see a difference in quality.

I doubt we'll see the regions being as inventive as they once were ever again, little things like this are nice, as are some of their other title sequences (Spotlight, NWT, LN Leeds) but others their on air appearance is simply not important (MTD)

Spot the lurking '2' in the clouds. Very Happy

Looks like a reshuffle of presenting duties at EMT with the rebranding of the late bulletin. Anne Davies now alternating presenting duties with Dom at lunchtime. Anne never presented at lunchtime only the main edition and late bulletins.

Why has the BBC logo gone a funny shape?
