I wonder in the summer time, BBC Breakfast would make a summer roadshow by touring round the UK just like the days when Radio 1 used to have. The Six O'Clock news did this recently with their bus with the election campaign. This is how it might go.
Natasha and Dermot tour round the UK every day for 8-9 weeks stopping around places on their bus/lorry/van including Ben Nevis, Land's End and Londonderry and the Shetland islands with guests and live acts and interviewing locals with maybe Tony Blair making a rare appearance at his home area. It might liven things up a bit.
Well there used to be a "Britain at Breakfast" series of OBs in the days of Breakfast News, where the show would travel around the UK. It wasn't always an entirely OB based show, and sometimes it was only for a day a week, but it is something they've kind of attempted before.
I think they were running this around 94 or 95. They often used to work closely with the regional news teams, drafting in a regional presenter to work alongside the national team. Sometimes they were really quite good - I remember the BBC East one involved a large OB with the Network team in Milton Keynes, with the regional Look East presenters in other locations across the region.

Chris Vacher presented with Andrew Harvey on Breakfast News, as can be seen on the presenters section at TV-Ark - i take it that this was 'Britain at Breakfast'
Well personally I would have Moria in London in the News 24 studio with Peter Dobbie and then Natasha in a flash flood in...in....Costa del... Rhyl!
The women is a walking cheque book - "Just fill me in"

And I think it was Sophie Raworth's big break - at least first time she appeared on national tv, and wasn't too long after she moved south iirc?
How dare you suggest that Moira would ever venture anywhere near a bus........................LOL. It would be interesting though:
Dermot
: "And let's cross over to Moira on the upper deck for the latest news........Good Morning, Moira."
The Great One
:
" Morning to You!"
At which point, the thousands of fans who have gathered at the bottom of the open top bus would start yelling and cheering having heard Moira's catchphrase being said over the loud speaker system........
Oh God, does anyone else think I need a holiday too......................
I don't think Moira would ever leave the studio though. I seem to remember when they presented Breakfast outside on the hottest day of the year (2003 Summer) they still had Moira reading the news summaries from the studio.
