Well here's something i noticed in next week's Radio Times this morning-BBC Sports presenter Katherine Downs is down to present on Sunday with Jon Kay-Also it has Normal shifts down from Monday onwards but with the situation regarding Susannah the way it is, i don't expect that to be correct.

If the Daybreak rumors are to be beleived, it seems they're trying out new faces on the sofa. OR the more likely story of it's the half term holidays in England and there is a shortage of presenters. If i'm correct, Katherine Downs was a news correspondent before. So doesn't come to a shock she may present.

Anyone but Naga!!!

Good pairing, IMO. Anyone think they actually work better than Bill and Susanna?

Maybe slightly but it makes very little difference to the quality of the programme.

it seems they have more chemistry, but even if it makes very little difference no one wants to watch wooden uncomfortable pairings imo.

Naga and Roger on a Sunday is an example of a wooden pairing!

Not sure that is Naga's fault.

Also , Katherine Downs will either be really good or awful if the Radio Times is correct.

If Susanna were to leave, or for a new relief presenter, what about someone like Suzanne Virdee? She was a deputy for Big Moira on the news desk going back a few years. Amazed she hasn't appeared on our screens since her sudden departure from Midlands Today.

There's more chance of Virdee ending up on Birmingham's City8 local tv channel at launch than a return to the BBC.

Well she's done stuff for the group hoping to to get the licence for Stratford.

The sudden departure may be a clue?

I guess you're in the wrong thread, Mo! Smile

However, in response to your query, Al Jazeera operate a fluid roster, meaning that any presenter can pop up at any time of the day or night and any day of the week. There's no such fixed slots, like they have on BBC World News, for example. There may be a macro rotation as such, but no finite fixed slots. so, Martine will appear here and there eventually.

Back to BBC Breakfast: Adam Parsons and Naga would be good permanent additions to the line up, IMO.

EDIT | Oops. You've deleted your post about Martine Dennis, to which my above reply was related. Just in case anyone thinks I've finally gone cuckoo.

Susanna leaving for ITV: speculation, but credible speculation, I'd say.

haha, thanks for answering both my questions James! Smile
I realized after posting, that I posted the Martine comment in the wrong thread so I quickly deleted it and replaced it, but since I was using my phone, I couldn't re-post my comment about Martine in the Al Jazzera thread for some reason.

Katherine Downes wasn't too bad at all. She fluffed the lines of the 7am opening, but she seemed to be quite polished and confident. She seemed perfectly fine all in all, but would prefer somebody else as a matter of familiarity, such as Naga. One thing was a relative lack of chemistry with Jon, but understandable given her inexperience with presenting the programme in the main seat.

Also, Jon said at the end that Bill and Susanna will be presenting tomorrow.

I can't help get the feeling that the rumours surrounding Susanna's defection to ITV have been somewhat exaggerated. It was rumoured that the new Daybreak presenter would be presented this week, which never happened, and that Susanna is back tomorrow, makes me think that perhaps it was a publicist hyping the possibility, or overstating the stages of even the idea of Susanna being approached/in talks with ITV. Was it a coincidence that she was on holiday, unable to comment/deny, and all these rumours fly around?

I think she will stay with the BBC.
