Was there a particular peg for this report - or was it just a nice meander through television history? Are the BBC about to change their on-screen look for instance?

Louise Minchin presented Christmas Day 2012
Susanna Reid presented Christmas Day 2011
Bill Turnbull presented Christmas Day 2010
Thanks for sharing. It's strange for Charlie to be doing it, because to my knowledge he doesn't live in the North West, and will have to commute for those days. Just makes travel a bit more complicated for him I guess, without wanting to pry into that too much.
Why, oh why, do they insist on using Roger Johnson? He is just so so boring!! Sian, on the other hand, I really do like. Same for Sally.
Susanna Reid fans will be a bit disappointed! She'll be probably recharging her batteries post-Strictly!
It just makes you realise how there's quite a large roster of presenters.

Wait, I thought the BBC didn't pay travel costs for presenters? I don't wont to get too into this, but seen as it's come up....
Usually they don't pay for freelancers but I suppose it is on a case to case basis, if they deem the person to be valuable enough to them, they'll pay travel expenses.

I don't like football, and I don't want to watch Mandella's funeral. I want my usual BBC Breakfast on Sunday morning. Why is it necessary to have the funeral on BBC1 and BBC News Channel? Breakfast swapped to BBC2 but gave way to MOTD at 7.30am. Sky News also showing the funeral so I don't even have Sunrise as a newsy/chat option this morning.
There is just no need to put the funeral on BOTH BBC1 and the News Channel - leave Breakfast on one channel.

I think they will be getting a lot of complaints about this.
