She told a Twitter follower that she's in Salford today for "operational reasons". No idea what that means!

Don't know why they didn't frame the plasma better on the screen - they should have zoomed in to avoid showing the vertical light boxes.

Could someone tell me why those 103" screens are sort of curved?

Just a guess, but probably an effect of using a wide-angle camera lens, rather than the screen itself being curved.

As already said it's wide angle camera lenses used to make the small studio look bigger, Birmingham and Tunbridge Wells have the same effect sometimes

That's a small screen for the weather, does NWT use the same one?

It's the same size as the weather plasma used in NBH.

I think the framing of the shot is poor, and Carol probably needs to move further towards the plasma to improve the scaling - she looks like she's standing too far from it. Don't know why they decided they should frame the shot like that.

Here's what it's like when Diane presents the weather on NWT:

Has Carols shot been framed for the ticker at the bottom of screen for the news channel? Can't see any reason why it would be framed that way otherwise. The image shown may have been from net1. Confused

Correct me if Im wrong, but the NC ticker normally doesnt appear during Breakfast transmission on the NC either?

Im guessing Salford studio & TC7 before it doesnt have the capabillity to output a ticker for some reason?

The ticker presumably also requires additional staff - a producer perhaps?

Salford does have the ability to output a ticker, it has the ability to use any lower thirds the Channel/World/Network use. It would indeed mean using a text producer though. A ticker is just not needed!

Worth noting that Louise Minchin is back from a holiday and is unusually presenting tomorrow's Breakfast with Tim Muffett.

It was purely a guess based on why on earth would they frame the shot that way if not IYSWIM.
