What a great programme today - really enjoyed watching and the change of the clock after 8:30 was a great touch, as were the old titles/stings.

And we specially recreated them in HD for your enjoyment. Surprised no-one noticed! Very Happy

I noticed that they clashed with the special clock Wink

I absoloutley noticed the work that went into the idents newsmonkey! Loved the old headlines sting (I think?) used going into and out of the regional news at 8.55. The sound quality seemed very good for an original piece. Did anybody by any chance capture it?

Dang! I could mislead as if Susanna has something to do with anti-immigrant polls!

Here's some of the Birthday highlights for people (like me) who missed it.

Breakfast apologising for Lesley Garrett's use of the word 'b*stard' at the end of the programme this morning. When did television become like this? I'm sure the word 'b*stard' was used in EastEnders up until quite recently.

"A word we don't normally use on Breakfast. It wasn't that bad, we just wanted to mention it in case anyone was offended"

There has to be some contextual justification for it though. When Alfie found out about Kat's affair he shouted "who's been shagging my wife", which you don't normally hear on EastEnders, but it perfectly fitted the moment because he was so angry and had so much more impact because of it. Saying "b*stard" on breakfast TV isn't quite the same.

Unless you're just taking the piss again in which case, a-ha ha ha.

In this case, it was a quote from a play or opera she was doing.

On the other hand, if she actually called Bill or Charlie a *******, then it would have been quite offensive to some people.

If they had posed a question and she said "Oh, shut up, you *******", then it would have been quite correct to issue an apology at the end.

I mean, someone used the word "battleaxe" on This Morning yesterday morning, and it made the front page news on many of the tabloids! So, Lesely Garrett's ******* will probably get the front page and an entire centre-spread as well.

Now, speaking of b@rcos, does anyone know how to calibrate them?
