Sian Lloyd?

And YAY for more Steph! Love her.

She's a regular contributor to the News Channel reporting from Wales.

A very good choice IMO - as well as having considerable experience of breaking news OBs lasting hours on end, she's also an anchor on Wales Today, so I imagine she'll do very well on Breakfast.

Just seen Breakfast's tree for the first time... it is ridiculously big, and stupidly placed, they would have been better having a virtual one, or putting it in the corner.

Have you seen the virtual one that North West Tonight are using???

I'd rather have the BBC keep the more real trees in place than the virtual ones, for the regional news!

Agreed - the NWT tree looks especially daft when you consider it's not entirely a fake newsroom backdrop - it's dominated by images of the Quays, so having a virtual tree plastered over the top looks awful. The Breakfast tree is a bit big, perhaps, but doesn't look obviously wrong in the same way.

Bill Turnbull and Sally Nugent are really great to watch together this morning, there's some good chemistry there which there never seems to be with Susanna. Hope they present together more in future.

I agree. It was also nice to see and hear a festive version of the titles/theme music this morning! Very Christmassy!

I'm new to the forum and these are a few questions i have wondered for a while so sorry if they're obvious. In my opinion this years breakfast Christmas edition wasn't as good as when it was in London In n6 last year not content wise it was the camera shots that let it down for me it looked like they made no effort at all. And why at weekends do they insist on getting the weather from London when they could get someone from the weather hub or get a NWT weather presenter into the studio?

Welcome!

I suppose shots are restricted due to the size of the set, although I'm not sure how big N6 is but it's certainly not as big as TC7, where some quite nice shots could be done. In N6 last year they put a fair few presents around the desk which looked nice, but then this year they had the real tree. Swings and roundabouts.

The weather hub is in Nottingham (I think - but certainly not Salford) so really there would be no difference. It would still be a DTL jobby. Currently there are only two NWT weather presenters - Diane and Eno - the latter certainly not being up to scratch, and if Diane started doing weekend weather forecasts on Breakfast, she wouldn't be able to do every night on NWT.

Hope that answers your questions.

I feel this could be a slight WUM, but I will take up the challenge.....

1. In what ways were the camer angles not to your liking - remember Christmas/Boxing day equals skeleton crew and as only 1 prresenter how many angles of that presenter do you want?

2. The weather hub and NWT weather presenters have never presented the weather for BBC Breakfast, they have always come from/via London - don't forget that 9 times out of 10 these weather presenters carry on doing the weather for the BBC News Channel after Breakfast has finished!!!

Ok thank's for the info about the weather presenters and whats stopping them from using the north west breakfast studio and I know about the skeleton crew as it's the holidays but how many people dose it take to run robotic cameras and N6 had varied camera shots last year.
